The EVB-EN5366QI is a low-cost off-line SMPS evaluation board designed to evaluate the popular TI TL494 and other TL494 family devices. It provides customers with a powerful platform for device evaluation, prototyping and even full system testing. It is intended to be used in applications such as industrial automation, motor control, LED drivers, lighting and UPS systems.Application Field
The EVB-EN5366QI is designed to evaluate the TL494 family of pulse-width-modulated (PWM) devices. This family of devices is ideal for applications such as industrial automation, motor control, LED drivers, lighting and Uninteruptible Power Supply (UPS) Systems. The board enables you to experiment with various topologies; single-phase, two-phase and three-phase. This allows the board to be used with a variety of control systems.Working Principle
The EVB-EN5366QI works by utilizing pulse-width modulation (PWM) to control the switching of transistors. By switching on and off transistors with precise timing, the EVB-EN5366QI can generate different voltages and current levels for a given load.The board has two basic operating circuits; the Enable/Disable circuit and the Control/Regulation circuit. The Enable/Disable circuit is the circuit that is used to control the on/off operation of the board. This is done by controlling the base voltage of the controlling transistor with a signal from the control logic section. The Control/Regulation circuit is the circuit that is used to regulate the voltage output of the board. This is done by monitoring the output voltage on each of the output terminals and then adjusting the PWM duty cycle accordingly. This is done by comparing the output voltage to a reference voltage and then adjusting the PWM duty cycle until the output voltage matches the reference voltage.Conclusion
