EVB-EN63A0QI is an advanced evaluation board for efficient AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion of an offline SMPS. It contains a full set of components to create a non-isolated, off-line flyback power supply up to 26W with up to 87% efficiency. The board can be used with the standard input voltage range of 85-265VAC, 50/60Hz and output voltage range of 12-24V.
Application Field

Working Principle
The power supply operates in flyback topology. In flyback topology, a DC supply voltage is created via a switching regulator, powered from the mains AC voltage, across a primary winding of a high frequency transformer. When the switch is in conducting state, the current in the primary winding of transformer will start to buildup. This energy stored within the transformer is then used to power a secondary winding of the transformer. The output from the secondary winding feeds the load and its associated circuitry. After the energy from the primary winding is discharged by the secondary winding, the switching regulator will stop the conduction to the transformer and the energy stored within the transformer is again used to power the secondary winding in the opposite direction to provide output DC voltage.
The primary design objectives of EVB-EN63A0QI board include high performance with minimum number of components, low standby power, wide full load operating range, high efficiency, field programmable power levels, easy programmable operations, LED feedback control and soft start capability.
