The EVB-EP53A8LQA evaluation board is an off-line switched-mode power supply (SMPS) designed to explore the features, performance, and suitability of the LQA6800A series of off-line ICs from Macronix. This series of devices integrates several functions for a complete protection and control of the switching power supply, such as overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, over-temperature protection, undervoltage protection, and brown-out prevention. Additionally, the device is capable of superior EMI performance even without an external filter. With these features, the LQA6800A series is ideal for use in a wide variety of applications, including consumer electronics, medical equipment, consumer appliances, gaming machines, and industrial control systems.

The board is an off-line double-ended type topology, employing two LQA6800A and one M2006A type MOSFET. Other main components on the board include an input filter, an output filter, and two capacitive dividers for DC voltages measurements.
