EVB-LAN9252-HBI is one of the Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits manufactured by CMS Technologies. It is based on the LAN9252 2-port EtherCAT slave controller with fully integrated PHY and HBI (High-speed Buffer Interface). The board includes all the necessary components to start developing applications such as timing, motors, encoders, HMI and industrial networks, such as EtherCAT.
The main purpose of the EVB-LAN9252-HBI board is to provide engineers and technicians with a platform to understand, analyze, evaluate and prove the functions and capabilities of the LAN9252 2-port EtherCAT slave controller. The board allows for a quick start in programming the LAN9252 EtherCAT controller and develop customer applications related to Ethernet-based industrial communications.
The EVB-LAN9252-HBI board is a compact evaluation board that contains the key components to build and evaluate a 2-port EtherCAT slave controller. The board incorporates a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 LPSTK4104 core, an SPI-to-HBI (High-speed Buffer Interface) bridge and a device selection switch. The board provides a direct connection to the 9252 EtherCAT controller. The board also has the necessary LEDs, jumpers, switches and push buttons to start developing and evaluating applications related to EtherCAT-based communication over industrial networks.
The EVB-LAN9252-HBI board makes use of the HBI interface to facilitate communication between the user\'s application firmware and the EtherCAT controller. The board allows the user to develop the application firmware and then load it on to the controller via the HBI interface. The board also allows the user to tap into the EtherCAT network, capture and analyze EtherCAT frames, thus giving a deeper understanding of how the EtherCAT controller operates.
