Briefly speaking, EVB-LAN9500A-LC, or the Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits, is a versatile product designed for building and testing network-based devices. The board is powered by the company’s PICkit to reduce cost and complexity. The board is also capable of supporting multiple Operating Systems (OS) and has drivers for Windows, Linux, Android, and others.In technical terms, the board’s main components include the embedded MCU, the ENC28J60 Network Interconnect Controller, two USB ports as well as a 10/100 Ethernet port. The USB ports have the capability to transfer data up to 480 Mbps. The ENC28J60 controller is a cost-effective, small form factor and highly integrated network interface controller and enables seamless integration of 10/100 Ethernet physical layer connectivity. Finally, the board has a built-in LED indicator which can be used to indicate various statuses. The EVB-LAN9500A-LC board is equipped with the company’s PICkit which is used as the main processing power of the board. It has a processor which runs at a maximum clock speed of 16 MHz and can then be reconfigured to 16/32 processors. The onboard SRAM is 32Kb, 64 Kb and 1 MB SRAM with multiple mapping possibilities. It is also compatible with various communications IPs (including UART, SPI, CAN and USB peripheral communication).
