The EVB_RT7238CGQUF is an evaluation board used to evaluate DC/DC and AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS from the RT7238CGQ. It is a type of digital phase-shifted full-bridge controller for Off-Line and DC-to-DC applications with a minimal external elements. This board is composed of several components, each with its own purpose. The main components of the EVB_RT7238CGQUF evaluation board are its Digital Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge (DPF-B) controller, its Power Factor Correction (PFC) controller, and its Simple Accurate Constant Frequency Buck (ACFB) controlled series switching regulator. The Digital Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge Controller is used for providing a four-switch phase-shifted synchronous rectification implementation. The device has integrated fault protection circuit, frequency jitter and parametric adjustment, as well as analog modulation inputs to support phase-shift modulation schemes.

The RT7238CGQ provides high levels of power factor performance of up to 0.98 with minimum component count. It also reduces system components, power losses, standby power and EMI. The device has external lead compensation, digitally adjustable soft start, over temperature protection and current fold back circuit for safety application.

The ACFB controller of the EVB_RT7238CGQUF is a digitally controlled series switching regulator with simple control architecture for high accuracy and fast dynamic performance. This controller is used to manage the full bridge converter operation. It features a digitally adjustable peak current limit and a fast soft start mechanisms. Additionally, it offers excellent process tolerance, fast dynamic response, as well as a wide range of compatible input voltage.
