The EVB_RT724 HCGSP is a series of high performance evaluation boards for dc/dc and ac/dc (off-line) switch mode power supply (SMPS) applications. It is designed to facilitate faster time-to-market through its efficient, powerful and user-friendly functions. The board features a highly accurate and reliable power measurement system with direct access to all the critical control parameters of the power stage. It also provides a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for setting and monitoring the power stage operation in real time.The EVB_RT724 HCGSP comes with a comprehensive suite of software tools such as the peak current mode control (PCMC) and voltage mode control (VMC). It also includes a graphical circuit simulator and dozens of automated tests and measurements to help optimize the design and performance of your SMPS.The EVB_RT724 HCGSP evaluation board contains a power stage that has been optimized for dc/dc and ac/dc (off-line) switch mode power supplies. It includes all of the basic components to build a complete power stage solution, including high-voltage (HV) start-up circuit, gate-drive circuit, buck, boost, buck-boost converter, and complimentary EMI/EMF suppression components.The EVB_RT724 HCGSP power stage is designed to operate from low input voltages (as low as 8V) up to 116V, and can provide high output power of 5W to 250W. It is equipped with a highly capable embedded MCU (EPC-1) which allows the user to apply a wide range of design and operational parameters. The high-frequency switching capabilities of the power stage are configured with the built-in PCMC and VMC algorithms. These algorithms allow the user to adjust the switching frequency and duty cycle of the power stage in order to achieve optimal efficiency and fast response to load and line conditions.The power stage is also equipped with an IGBT driver which performs the switching of the power switches at high frequency. The high performance and flexibility of the EVB_RT724 HCGSP power stage allow designers to achieve efficient power conversion in a wide range of power supply applications.The EVB_RT724 HCGSP is a complete development system with a comprehensive set of software tools and GUI for power stage configuration. Through the use of these tools, designers can rapidly optimize the performance and efficiency of their SMPS design. The PCMC and VMC algorithms are designed to run in real time with help from the MCU, enabling designers to test and adjust the design parameters in real time.
