EVB_RT7252BZSP is an advanced evaluation board supplied by Richtek, integrating Richtek RT7252BZSP, a full featured 2A offline switcher IC. Its wide voltage range is between 10V and 580V and frequency range is from 25kHz up to 500kHz. This evaluation board can be widely used as testing or application platform for power supply applications, such as basic offline adapters, AC-DC, DC-DC, AC-DC charger, battery charger, LED driver, motor drivers, multi-phase buck or multiple output applications.EVB_RT7252BZSP is built with a printed circuit board (PCB) with 3mm thickness. In order to reduce the EMI noise, a metal pc cover with 12mm thickness could be applied to its top for enclosure. A main switching live power supply of 100V to 264VAC input voltage is directly connected to the circuit board.EVB_RT7252BZSP consists of an input rectifier circuit, an output filter circuit, a main transistor driver circuit, a protection circuit, a monitoring circuit, and a feedback circuit. The input rectifier circuit rectifies the 100V to 264VAC to a DC voltage. The rectified voltage is then sent to the main transistor driver circuit, where it is amplified and used to drive the main transistor of the output filter circuit to produce the required output voltage. The protection circuit is designed to protect the circuit board from any external disturbances that may lead to any kind of damage, like short circuit, overvoltage, overcurrent, and over temperature. This protection circuit also has some standby current to keep the IC in operation during interruptions in the main power supply. The main transistor works in discontinuous conduction mode regulated by the controller IC. The controller IC provides several current and temperature protection functions. The monitoring circuit monitors the output voltage and checks for any faults, and the feedback circuit maintains the output voltage for all load conditions. EVB_RT7252BZSP also provides a user interface through a push button to control the output voltage manually and an LCD for displaying the output voltage. The LCD is also used to set the output voltage threshold that can be adjusted through the configuration tool. A PC with a standard USB port is used to install the configuration tool and the UI. The user can control the output voltage and compare it with the real output voltage via the UI. EVB_RT7252BZSP can be widely used in many different applications, such as basic offline adapters, DC-DC, AC-DC charger, LED driver, motor drivers, and multi-phase buck or multiple output applications. It offers a very efficient and reliable platform for power supply applications. Moreover, it is also equipped with a protective cover and a user-friendly UI for easy control and settings. Moreover, the adjustable output voltage threshold setting allows the user to calibrate the power output voltage for precise applications.
