The EVB_RT9089AGQW is a functional evaluation board for the RT9089AGQW offline switch mode power supply (SMPS). This low standby power integrated regulator features high accuracy, high power efficiency, fast transient response, low output noise, and an accurate current-limit feature with ±1% internal reference voltage accuracy.

The EVB_RT9089AGQW is designed to operate in a wide range AC input voltage range of 85~264Vrms and provide an output voltage from 3.3V to 5V. It is an open-loop (non-feedback) power supply, meaning it does not use feedback to maintain a stable output voltage. The output voltage is set by the external reference voltage, the output inductor, and the output capacitor. The EVB_RT9089AGQW has a current-mode control circuit that ensures reliable and stable regulation of the output voltage when the input voltage, load current, or environmental conditions fluctuate.

In addition to its open-loop power supply design, the EVB_RT9089AGQW utilizes several components to provide a higher level of protection. An NTC thermistor is used to protect the circuit by reducing the input voltage when the board temperature exceeds the specified operating range.
