The EVB-Z100S1AFR is an Evaluation and Development Kit (EDK) board that provides a platform to develop wireless applications based on the Zentri Z8/Z802 Series MCU family. This series of wireless MCUs have the capability to transmit and receive data wirelessly via a wide range of protocols including 868MHz, 915MHz, 2.4GHz, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It is ideally suited for developing low-power, cost-effective, and reliable IOT solutions in industrial, medical, and consumer applications.

The EVB-Z100S1AFR EDK has a host of features like onboard 1 MB of FLASH and 128KB of SRAM, as well as 4 universal serial bus (USB) ports, one RS232 serial port, 6-pin ICSP connector, and one 10-pin ICSP connector. Not only can the EVB-Z100S1AFR be used to develop applications based on Z8/Z802 series MCUs, but it can also be used to control external devices via its USB and RS232 ports. The EVB-Z100S1AFR can be used in conjunction with many other boards like the application development KIT-APPZ028, Z8/Z802 board to quickly prototype applications.

EVB-Z100S1AFR has an integrated radio module which supports 915MHz, 868MHz, 2.4GHz, Bluetooth, as well as Wi-Fi. The integrated radio module allows the board to transmit and receive data wirelessly. The antenna of the EVB-Z100S1AFR is integrated in the form of an SMA female connector on the board. This frquency selection of the RF modules can be done through the ZPAN App.

At the core of the board lies an advanced Z8/Z802 series of MCUs, specifically the Z8F6430 MCU. This is a very powerful MCU family, which is capable of executing up to 4.2 GHz frequency. The availability of such a powerful MCU allows the user to develop applications for high-end tasks such as robotics, motion control, audio, video, image processing, as well as consumer products.

The configuration of the EVB-Z100S1AFR Evaluation Kit Board is made possible by the use of ZentriOS SDK software and related development tools. The ZentriOS SDK allows the user to configure the board by providing a GUI, programming libraries, and a command line interface. The user can take advantage of the built in debug mode, which allows the user to debug applications in real time. It also has the ability to download applications directly to the board.
