Thermal cutoffs, or commonly called thermal fuses, are electrical safety devices that are designed to protect against overheating and fire hazards which may be produced from electrical current or caused by overloads, short-circuits, or ground faults. These thermal fuses, as previously stated, are used as a safety precaution to prevent these hazardous situations from occurring, as well as protecting the electrical equipment’s components and wiring from damage due to overheating. Thermal fuses can be used in numerous different electrical applications such as refrigerators, air conditioners, kitchens, circuit boards, car systems, and much more. They are connected in series with an electrical circuit to monitor the temperature of the application, and if the temperature exceeds a certain threshold, usually indicated by a cut-off temperature on the rating of the thermal fuse, then the fuse opens and disconnects the circuit before any further damages can occur.

The EYP-05BE102 thermal fuse is a small thermal cut-off fuse which can be used for many of these applications.
