FD-F71 is a low-cost, lightweight, single-beam, Photoelectric Sensor. It is designed for sensing long object edges and contours, as well as dark and light contrast changes, for object detection and trigger control. The FD-F71 produces a visible laser light self-aligned, aiming and digital laser spot on the object.

The FD-F71 includes a Red Gaussian spot laser with pulse mode output, and excellent narrow spot of its beam of 15.4 - 16.7 mm at a range of 100 mm. It is also equipped with an adjustable focus and adjustable time delay function. This makes it suitable for various applications, such as in industrial machines and complex automation systems.

The FD-F71 is used for detecting objects and edges from 0.8 - 0.6 mm in diameter. It can operate in single or double beam mode, making it easier to detect objects in different positions and different angles. It is also equipped with a built-in amplifying unit and differential amplifier and its sensitivity can be adjusted by the number of output pulses per second.

The FD-F71 has a selectable high or low select gain setting for low light level and narrow-spot detection (Narrow Spot Technology). It also features a high-sensitivity external temperature compensating LED for low light level performance. Furthermore, the FD-F71 has an automatic temperature compensation function that adjusts its optical characteristics based on the ambient temperature to ensure its accurate detection.

The FD-F71 has selectable digital input, to enable a user to choose between a signal source or a switch. The FD-F71 can also be configured for synchronized input so that it detects the presence or absence of an object when it is switched on or off.

The FD-F71 also features a reverse trigger signal for controlling high-power loads such as electromechanical relays, solenoids, and servomotors. This feature can also control up to four outputs simultaneously, making it suitable for controlling multiple control modules in an automated production system.

The FD-F71\'s edge sensing ability is enhanced with its external repeater LED, which increases its long-distance detection range and sharper resolution of edges. Edge sensing accuracy is fairly superior to that of other sensors.
