FDC Application Field and Working Principle
FDC (Flame Detection Camera) is a high-end low-light imaging device specially developed by fire protection engineers for firefighting and alarm vision system. It uses advanced CMOS image sensors and microprocessor digital signal processing (DSP) technology to capture images and process video signals for fire hazard detection. FDC is widely used in various applications such as fire alarm monitoring, fire fighting, power generation, oil and gas industry, steel and chemical industry.
FDC has three main components: an optical sensor, a signal processor, and an actuator. The optical sensor acquires images of the scene without being affected by ambient light, and the signal processor converts the analog signal from the sensor into digital form. The actuator, which is usually an electric motor, is used to control the position of the FDC, allowing it to be tilted up, down, left or right as necessary. The signal processor then processes the digital signal, analyzing it for potential fire hazard indicators.
FDCs are typically used in industrial plants for the early detection of fire or combustible gas concentration. This helps to minimize the risk and damage of a potential major fire incident by providing rapid warning and increased emergency response times. In some cases, when a potential fire hazard is detected, the FDC can be used to activate automatic sprinkler systems or provide further warnings to personnel.
FDCs are also used extensively in the security industry to monitor areas during low-light conditions and detect unauthorized or suspicious activity. The cameras can provide a quick response to real-time video and can be used to detect potential intruders before they can access sensitive areas or cause damage.
FDCs have been available for many years, but the recent advances in CMOS image sensors and signal processors have enabled a new generation of high-performance FDCs. These new FDCs offer superior image resolution, wide field of view, low-light sensitivity, and even better processing and response times than earlier models.
FDCs are an essential tool for a range of applications, and their rapid response times and advanced imaging capabilities make them an invaluable asset in the security and fire protection industries.
