FI-W15P-HFE is a type of rectangular connectors - headers, male pins. It is mainly used in automotive and air traffic control system, combining with other connectors to set up a reliable connection. With a rating of 5A at 250V(AC) / 15A at 28V(DC), it is particularly suitable for high-current applications in these fields. Moreover, it comes with an advancer feature of being self-locking.
FI-W15P-HFE shapes like a rectangle, with 15 pins at both lateral side creating a symmetric design. This design forms a reliable connection through penetrative contact principle. On the upper side of the connector are several hollows which let out the gas caused by the heat during the working period. This gas releasing feature prevents the overheat of the connector and the circuit. Also the design of the hollows supports the shield purpose, protecting the connecting circuits from electricity noise and other damages from the outside environment.
The pins are made of copper. The Locking: Push-Pull locks the contacts indeed, adding to the safety of the connection. The housing material is made with high-temperature polyester: UL94V-0. The temperature rating is UL:60℃ or 105℃, which allows it to be used in a wide range of high temperatures. The working current is 15A, operating at 28V DC, making it suitable for applications that require electricity with high voltage. The insulation impedance is 1000MΩ and contact resistance is 5mΩ, both ensuring the contact potentials and the current run normally in almost any situation.
The contact principle of FI-W15P-HFE is penetrative weld. Part of the pin is surrounded by the high temperature polyester. When facing the other part with pins, both will squeeze and fit each other tightly, creating the connection as well as the penetrative weld. Plus, the pins are all located at the same side, making it an easier, more reliable and more consistent connection. Therefore, FI-W15P-HFE highly likely to be chosen for applications in vehicle and air traffic system.
The FI-W15P-HFE type of rectangular connectors - headers, male pins are usually used in frequency automation systems and vehicle power systems which require higher current levels and bearing higher temperatures.
