FL11T65 application field and working principle

FL11T65 are novel medium time lag current-limiting fuse. This series of fuses is mainly used in short-circuit fault protection for equipment, distribution lines, motors, power transformers, power supply, and current-limiting protection for lines with large inrush current and occasional abnormal operating conditions such as transformers, capacitors, engines, arcs, and sudden large overloads.

FL11T65 fuses are made up of high quality zinc oxide grains carefully processed and perfect complex technology. These zinc oxide grains are developed and produced in high temperature and pressure conditions. The grains all employed diffuses oxide grain technology, which make the fuse anti-breaking and temperature-resistant. Compared with the traditional fuse element, this technology has excellent electrical performance, higher breaking capacity, faster operation and more sensitive protection.

FL11T65 fuses are composed of two main parts: fuse element and connector. The connector is composed of two or three fuse clips, and the bottom of the connector is a tin-plated copper contact barrel, which plays a role in controlling and measuring the current. The housing of the fuse is made of heat-resistant, flame-retardant and explosion-proof materials, so as to provide a secure protection from environmental damage. It also has a wide range of application voltage of up to 690V.

The FL11T65 fuse is mainly used for current over current protection. Its working principle is that when the circuit is normal, the current passing through the fuse itself is small, and the current passing through it does not exceed the rated operating current of the fuse, so that the fuse does not open. However, when a short circuit or overload occurs, the current is greatly increased. When the current passing through the current-limiting fuse reaches a certain value, the fuse element melting surface will be heated by a large current, and a thermal “instantaneous melting” process is started. When the fuse element is melted by the instantaneous heating, the current in the circuit begins to be limited, dispersing and propagating through the zinc oxide grains ripple zone.

In this way, after a certain time lag, the fuse element will finally be completely cut off to completely isolate the fault circuit, so as to achieve the purpose of protecting the normal output circuit. Therefore, the main function of FL11T65 fuse is to protect the normal output circuit of equipment from the hazards of short circuit, overload and its consequences.
