Through-Hole Resistors

Through-hole resistors, also known as leaded resistors, are resistors that are mounted directly on circuit boards by being inserted into through-holes and soldered. Through-hole resistors are currently the most conventional type of resistor. There are two main styles of through-hole resistors: Carbon Composition, which has two metal end caps, and Metal Film, which has one cylindrical metal end cap. They are cheaper and simpler than surface mount resistors, but less reliable and require more space on the circuit board.

FMP300FTE73-1K Application Field and Working Principle

The FMP300FTE73-1K is an insulated metal film through-hole resistor with an operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. It is a fixed-type resistor which consists of a resistive element encased in a non-magnetic, ceramic-metal housing. The FMP300FTE73-1K has a low temperature coefficient of ±100 ppm/K, making it accurate over a wide temperature range. The resistive element of the FMP300FTE73-1K is composed of nickel-chromium and copper thick-film resistors with a resistor element resistance of 1,000 ohms. Its metal endcap is made of nickel-plated brass, and its insulator is a ceramic-metal composite.
