The FNM-15/100 application field and working principle is a type of electrical specialty fuse. FNM-15/100 is widely used in communications, power line protection, control systems, instrumentation, LED lighting, lighting control, industry and other fields. Electrical specialty fuses provide overload protection by connecting the fuse to the current distribution circuit. In the process of the circuit electricity passing through the fuse, if an abnormal current surge occurs, the fuse will cut off the overcurrent quickly to protect the working device and circuit. An advantage of specialty fuses is that they don’t require a large area for installation due to their small size compared to circuit breakers. That makes them ideal for applications with limited space. In addition, since the fuse breaks the circuit promptly and rarely needs to be replaced, they can reduce electrical downtime which improves system efficiency.
FNM-15/100 fuses consist of a fuse body and one or two fuse elements. The fuse body, also known as the fuse holder, carries one or two fuse elements. Fuse elements, which are connected in series, provide overload protection by placing them in high heat and arc resistant fuses. The fuse holder is generally made of UL approved gray ABS material and includes a terminal block, mounting bracket and ground wire.
In an interconnected system, FNM-15/100 must be correctly connected to ensure reliable operation. EDN conduction paths must be small, usually less than 5mm. It’s important that there is no bad connection between the parts of the fuse and the fuse element, otherwise it may cause an explosion during the operation of the specialty fuse. To maximize the operation performance, the fuse must be properly maintained. If the fuse is kept in a relatively clean environment and away from vibration, the fuse operation time can be prolonged.
FNM-15/100 operates on a melt operation principle. When an overcurrent passes through a fuse element, the two metals inside the fuse element heat up due to friction. Unchecked electrical current is powered by a battery and through fuses. When the electrical current passes through the fuse element, it generates heat to melt the fuse element. This breaks the circuit when the fuse\'s melting point is reached, thus, preventing the connected device or machine from damage caused by an overcurrent. The fuse element can then be replaced with a new element, which will restore the correct current flow in the device or machine.
FNM-15/100 electrical specialty fuses are designed to provide superior protection and maintain system operation. Utilizing integrated design and advanced technologies, reliability and safety are improved. The special fuses have reliable electrical properties, excellent flame-retardant properties, anti-interference and anti-vibration capabilities, as well as low temperature rise and low power consumption. With a broad application field and desirable working principle, FNM-15/100 electrical specialty fuses offer great advantages for its users.
