The FSI-120-06-L-S-AD is a rectangular connector array edge type mezzanine board designed to stack two boards together and provide a connection between them. It is a low profile, surface-mount board-to-board connector that has 120 contact positions arranged in a 6x20 array of 12mm centers. It uses a 0.050” (1.27 mm) contact pitch and is provided in a 2.45mm stack height. The board comes with either a solder or a press fit termination.

The connector has a rated current of 1 Amp AC/DC and a rated voltage of 12V AC/DC. It is rated for operating temperatures between -55C to +105C and is constructed from glass-filled nylon. It is also available in two different shell options, the L-S-AD (stands for Lead Frame Solder & Press Fit) and the L-AD (stands for Lead Frame Assembly). The FSI-120-06-L-S-AD is RoHS compliant and meets UL94V-0 flammability standard.

The connector has two types of contact arrangements; soldered connections and press fit connections. For soldered connections, the contacts are soldered onto the board from the bottom side before the board is placed in the array. For press fit connections, the connector uses a one-piece pin-in-hole solution which allows the contact to be inserted and locked securely in place with a simple press fit action. This eliminates the costly assembly process associated with soldered connections.

The connector also features a unique latching system that ensures a secure connection between the connector and board during assembly and subsequent use. The latch consists of two metal retainers which are locked together by a common latch bar. This latch allows for easy assembly and removal of the board without the need for screws or additional fasteners.
