The FSI-135-03-G-D-AB is a rectangular connector for arrays, edge types, and mezzanine (board to board) designs. It is two-piece construction consisting of a plug housing and card edge connector. The plug housing has a shuttered socket contact that is recessed to avoid damage caused by impact. The contact is made of phosphor bronze and is gold plated for enhanced resistance to corrosion, wear, and abrasion. The card edge connector is made of anodized aluminum and is designed to fit into most edge card applications.
The two pieces of the FSI-135-03-G-D-AB provide secure, reliable connections when exchanging signals, power, and/or data between two boards. The contact socket is recessed to provide protection against wear, dust, and moisture, and also provides a safe ground connection for sensitive components.
The FSI-135-03-G-D-AB is suitable for most which can be found across a variety of industries. It can be used for interconnects in medical devices, elevator systems, lead-frames, security systems, broadcast equipment, telecom systems, and industrial equipment.
The working principle of the FSI-135-03-G-D-AB is based on the electrical connections created by the plug housing connecting to the board edge connector. When the plug housing is inserted into the card edge connector, two metal contacts inside the plug housing contact two contacts on the board edge connector, creating the electrical connection. The metal contacts on the plug housing are held in position by metal “spacer” plates which are held in place by three flat screws on either side.
The socket contact is held in place by two screws on either side and has an internal spring which helps provide a tight and secure connection between the contacts. The spring also helps hold the contact in place when the plug housing is inserted or removed, ensuring reliable connections. The card edge connector is held in place by two metal clips which help keep the card edge connector from coming free from the board edge.
The FSI-135-03-G-D-AB provides reliable connections between two boards quickly and easily. It provides a secure connection by eliminating the possibility of cables from being disconnected or pulled during use. It also eliminates the need for soldering which can significantly reduce installation and repair times. The robust design and durable construction makes it an ideal choice for a variety of applications including industrial equipment, medical devices, broadcast equipment, elevator systems, and more.
