Working Principle of FTR-123-02-G-D

The FTR-123-02-G-D is a block connector and it utilizes a male header with rectilinear pin contacts. It consists of two parts: a male header and a female contact body. The male header is rectangular-shaped and has a number of shields located along the length of the connector. On the inner wall of the male header, evenly-spaced cutouts are located in which the male pins are inserted. Each pin is connected to a shielded contact on the male header by means of a metal retaining clip. Each pin is also connected to the female contact body by means of a plastic connection plate.

When the connector is assembled, the female contact body is inserted into the internal grooves along the length of the male header. During this insertion, the plastic connection plates, which are connected to the pins, will be held firmly in the cutouts located in the inner wall of the male header. The functioning of the connector is based on the principle of electrical contact between the several pins and the female contact body. As the pins are pressed firmly into the female contact body, they create an electrical connection, thus forming an electrical circuit.

The FTR-123-02-G-D also features an integral shield which helps to ensure the electrical contacts are held securely in position, providing a better signal coupling.
