Application Field

The FTSH-series latching type connectors have a wide range of application, ranging from military, avionics, medical, industrial, automotive and many consumer electronics. It caters to most applications demanding Blind-Mate, repeated mating/unmating, and scenarios where high pin count connections are needed.

The Working Principle

FTSH-series connectors provide blind mating capability when connecting two items by using two parts, one is the header and another is plug. They are also zif type connectors that use a self-locking press-fit mechanism to fix the female and male pins in place. The male pin first penetrates the female pin while pressing the lever at the front end of the plug. After the male pin is locked in place, it is then released and thus providing the connection. This type of connection is designed to provide a highly reliable connection and to provide high capacity for signal transmission due to its small profile.
