Fuseholders provide a secure, access, and safe physical and electrical connection between the fuse and the protected system. They also help to distribute power more evenly, and maintain electrical continuity and symmetry.

HEB-JW-RYC Application Fields

The HEB-JW-RYC fuseholder is a crimped style holder for use with class H fuses. It is specifically designed for high-temperature applications, making it suitable for use in hazardous areas or those with explosive atmospheres. It is approved in many countries for use in mining operations, marine, railway, instrument and control systems, power transmission and lighting. The HEB-JW-RYC is also used in many industries such as food processing, chemical, oil and gas, aerospace and automotive.

HEB-JW-RYC Working Principle

The HEB-JW-RYC fuseholder is made of bright, corrosion-resistant, cast iron. The design and construction of this holder allows for easy one-handed insertion of class H fuses. Two symmetrical loops of spring-steel are crimped onto each contact to ensure good electrical contact between the fuse and contact. The contact grooves are chamfered and polished for secure and continuous seating of the fuses. The contacts themselves are formed from a high-strength copper alloy.

The fuseholder has an insulation sleeve to create a barrier between the contact and the ground connection. This insulation also meets the requirements of most international electrical codes. The terminal posts are designed to provide additional safety features, like IP 20 or IP 67, depending on the application. Another safety feature is the spring-loaded contact eyelet, which prevents contact with live wires and ensures a safe installation.

The HEB-JW-RYC fuseholder uses a toggle-action, delayed action, and solid-state circuit breakers. These are designed to provide current-limiting protection against short-circuits and also to connection and disconnect the supply. The toggle-action circuit breaker is suitable for high inrush currents and employs an adjustable timer to delay the opening of the circuit. The delayed action solid-state circuit breaker is suitable for both low-level and high-level currents and trips quickly in either case.

The HEB-JW-RYC fuseholder is also designed to provide a maximum voltage range of 450V. This includes AC voltages between 220V to 440V along with DC voltages between 24V to 440V. Finally, the product comes with a 24-month warranty and is certified for use by UL, CSA, and IEC.
