In a typical application, a HEY-AA component connects the main power supply (AC or DC) to a device or machine. It prevents unwanted power fluctuations or surges which could potentially cause serious damage to electronic components.The HEY-AA fuseholder is a component that typically fits into either a 3- or 4-pin connector in the device or machine. It is designed to protect and hold the fuse and control the power supply to the device. In a typical ring terminal or panel mount configuration, the holder is equipped with a fuse, which then connects the power supply to the device or machine.Once the fuse is connected to the holder, it will remain in place due to the spring action of the fuse holder’s claws. When pressure is applied to the holder, the fuse’s contact springs are forced open and the fuse is released from the holder. This ensures that the device or machine is not damaged or overloaded if the fuse blows or fails.The holder also contains a movable contact that will remain in contact with the fuse under normal circumstances, however when the current demand from the device exceeds the fuse rating, the contact will move away from the fuse. This will then cause the fuse to open, protecting the device or machine from any further power surges.In addition to protecting the device or machine from power surges, the HEY-AA fuseholder also provides a visual indication of the fuse status at all times.
