HFBR-0400 is an Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits device, to access increased speed links and to demonstrate the working and performance of Avago Technologies\'s high speed short wavelength (850 nm .) transceiver—HFBR-0400. This module has to meet the new SFF-8472 electrical specifications. It is a fully tested, ready-to-use module designed for use in datacom and network applications,comes with all required components such as two high speed serial data links, two jumpers, one small screwdriver, one quick release connector, one serial cable, two mounting brackets, isolation tubing to protect the fiber from the host PCB.
The HFBR-0400 Evaluation and Demonstration Kits delivers the technology required for the development and testing of digital link connections. It enables the user to mount the board in a variety of different ways to best suit their particular orientation needs. The board also features high speed SFF-8472 data transfer of up to 1 Gbps.
The heart of the board and the main component is the short wavelength transceiver, HFBR-0400, which is capable of transmitting data at up to 1 Gbps and is compliant with SFF-8472 electrical specifications. The serial link accommodates two 100 Mbps lines and one 200 Mbps line with a total maximum transmission speed of up to 1 Gbps. The modules are available in models with LED backlighting and are designed to fit into the 2mm to 15mm pitch connector. The unique design of the board fits all SFF-8472 compliant connectors and provides an optimal signal path for higher data rates.
HFBR-0400 works through the principles of optical fiber transmission systems. Optical fibers are used for transmission of data and substantial amounts of information across long distances.
