1. Describe

The Versatile Link Series is a complete line of fiber optic link components for applications requiring a low cost solution. The HFBR-0500ETZ series includes transmitters, receivers, connectors and cables designed to simplify designs. This family of components is ideal for Solve problems with voltage isolation/insulation, EMI/RFI immunity, or data security. Logic-compatible receivers and complete specifications of each component simplify optical link design. Key optical and electrical parameters of links configured using the HFBR-0500ETZ series are fully guaranteed -40° to 85° C. Multiple package configurations and connectors provide designers with a variety of mechanical solutions to meet application needs. Transmitter and receiver assemblies are designed for high-volume/low-cost assembly processes such as automated insertion and wave soldering. The emitter contains a 660 nm LED. The receiver consists of a monolithic DC-coupled digital IC receiver with an open-collector Schottky output transistor. An internal pull-up resistor is available when using the HFBR-25X1ETZ and HFBR-25X2ETZ receivers. Shielding has been integrated into the receiver IC to provide additional localized noise immunity. The internal optics have been optimized for use with 1 mm diameter plastic optical fibers. The common link specification includes all connector interface losses. Thus, optical calculations for common link applications are simplified.
