HLMP-0405 is an LED indicator designed for discrete control. It features a 6-pin epoxy package, 2.5mm diameter, with a bright red color, for long lasting visibility. It is available in a variety of voltage, current and wattage ranges, with operating temperatures from -30°C to +100°C.
The LED indicator is composed of two main components – the LED element and the driver circuitry. The LED element is a gallium arsenide phosphide (GaAP) chip, which is hermetically sealed in a protective epoxy encasement for protection against moisture, dust, shock and vibration. It has an emission wavelength in the range of 650 to 680 nm and an optical power of up to 5 mW. The driver circuit consists of a resistor, which sets the operating current and turns on the LED when the voltage is provided, and an optoisolator, to reduce electromagnetic interference.
The LED indicator is designed for applications such as wall panels, floor panels, signage, control boxes, and other discrete signaling needs. It provides high visibility in low-light conditions and is durable enough to withstand harsh environmental conditions. The LED indicator is capable of flashing at high speeds with a long life span and is also capable of monochromatic or single-color, dual-color and even tri-color lighting effects to meet discrete signaling needs.
In order for the HLMP-0405 to be properly used, it must first be connected to a power source and the driving circuit. The driving circuit is composed of a resistor and an optoisolator which determine the operating current and turn-on the device respectively. An appropriate voltage must be applied across the resistor, as the value of the resistor determines the amount of current which flows. The amount of current supplied will depend on the type of LED element used, as well as the particular operating temperature. Once the voltage is applied the optoisolator maintains a constant current to the LED element, regardless of fluctuations of the power supply.
In addition to its discrete control capabilities, the HLMP-0405 is also suitable for continuous operation, such as a constant on or off lighting situation. The current, voltage and wattage of the device remains consistent, even when exposed to rapid on/off switching, making it a suitable choice for operations that require precise and direct command control. The high visible light output and low power consumption also make the HLMP-0405 suitable for high-output applications such as spotlights and headlights. The epoxy encasement further ensures that the device remains physically protected for long periods of operation.
The HLMP-0405 LED indicator offers long-lasting visibility and easy installation for a wide range of discrete control applications.
