HLMP-3962

HLMP-3962 devices are optically-coupled isolators with integrated LED presents. Designed for high speed, high reliability applications, these devices consist of an AlGaAs LED coupled with an integrated photo IC, located in the same package. The devices are ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) protected and offer excellent common mode transient immunity when compared with the TLP106 devices.

The application field of this device is heavily focused on signal isolation and spilt protection. Typical discrete-level applications could include isolating loosely coupled systems which are susceptible to noises, controlling power supply noise and controlling power supply spikes. It can also be used as an interface between microcontrollers and other electronics. These devices can also be used to drive high-speed pulsed signals between loosely coupled systems, like in motor drive systems.

The working principle of the HLMP-3962 device relies on the use of the integrated LED present to transmit the input signals across an isolator channel. The output signals are received by an integrated photo-IC and converted back into the desired signal.
