Attenuators

The HMC4623LP3ETR is a variable gain amplifier (VGA), a circuit which is used for the purpose of varying the power level of an input signal. It is a surface mount integrated circuit designed and manufactured by Chips-Tech, a leading semiconductor company. This VGA is a MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) consisting of two temperature compensated attenuators,whose gain control input pins can be used to adjust the level of the output signal.

The HMC4623LP3ETR has a total of eight pins,five for gain control and three for power supply, V DD , V EE and V REF . The gain control pins help adjust the level of the output signal whose range can be anywhere from 0 to 73dB. It has a wide frequency range with a maximum of 18 GHz operation and an outstanding linearity of approximately 43dBm at a frequency of 2.5 GHz. Additionally, the gain and input match of the HMC4623LP3ETR is excellent with very low distortion and excess noise.

The application of the HMC4623LP3ETR covers a broad number of functions.
