The HMC551LP4ETR is a high performance Active Double Balanced RF Mixer developed by Analog Devices. This mixer device is designed for use in applications with frequency range of 500 MHz to 12 GHz. It also works with Local Oscillator power levels from -17 dBm to +2 dBm. It is a versatile device, ideal for applications where high conversion gain and high linearity is needed.

Working Principle

This RF Mixer consists of two double balanced mixers: a ’Translator’ with a hybrid combining network and a ’Limiter’ with a production amplifier. The translator converts the signal from the input port to the converter share and the limiter keeps the signal level constant at the output port. The converted signal is then fed to a low-noise amplifier for further processing.
