The HSMC-C230 by Lumex is a discrete LED indicator board comprised of two surface-mount LEDs and two mounting positions, allowing users to easily install the indicator to their surface-mount device. It is a versatile, easy to use option for applications that require an easy to access indicator. Designed for reliability and easy installation, the HSMC-C230 is ideal for applications including medical, instrumentation, safety, and controls.The HSMC-C230 consists of two individually mounted LEDs that have a margin of 0.122" (3.1 mm). This space is ideal for mounting to the board in tight and confined conditions. The indicator is constructed using a rare earth LED with a brightness of 10 cd, which is bright enough to be visible in a variety of settings. The LEDs also have a great durability, with a lifetime of up to 100,000 hours.The HSMC-C230 connects to a circuit board in two ways: direct or via an optional mounting adapter. The direct connection method involves soldering the indicator directly to a circuit board. Alternatively, the optional mounting adapter allows the user to attach the indicator quickly and easily, with no need for soldering. The adapter is also secured, ensuring that the indicator does not accidentally come off. The indicators are available in a variety of mounting configurations, including vertical and horizontal, to ensure that the LED is visible from any angle. The HSMC-C230 works by creating a current path between the board and the LED. When the LED is triggered, the current flows from the board to the LED, causing the LED to glow. The indicator is available with three different methods of controlling its brightness. The first is via an external resistor, which enables the user to control the brightness of the LED.
