The HW-SPAR3E-SK-EC-G Evaluation Board is a platform designed for embedded systems based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array), CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) and System On Chip (SoC) technology. It is suitable for applications such as real-time value streaming, embedded storage and control, as well as low-power and complex communications. The main components are the Altera MAX 10 FPGA, the System on Module (SoM), and the Evaluation Board (EVB).

The Altera MAX 10 FPGA is a programmable logic device with up to 600 logic elements, 5,000 flip flops and 216 multiplexer blocks, organized into 5 distinct I/O banks that allow for easy connections to external devices or systems. It uses a non-volatile Flash technology with SRAM-based configuration that can sustain up to 10,000 read/write cycles without data loss. The FPGA can be programmed with any logic code that fits within its resources and can be changed if a different algorithm needs to be used.
