ICE3B3565I is a PMIC - AC DC Converters, Offline Switcher, designed to provide high power sealed AC DC power solutions with maximum immunity to interferences. It is designed with digital control technology and meets the latest EN 60335-2-29, UL60950 and IEC 60950 safety standards. The ICE3B3565I consists of three integrated high voltage blocks: a full bridge rectifier, a FET array and an isolated flyback converter. With its integrated power semiconductor devices and numerous protection features, the ICE3B3565I can achieve bill of material (BOM) savings and space reduction in any power supply design. Application FieldThe ICE3B3565I is intended to provide sealed, isolated and efficient power solutions in a variety of applications. The device meets the requirements for applications such as air conditioning, TVs, microwaves, refrigerators, etc., where the need for high power and high reliability in equipment design is paramount. Additionally, it is used in any application where a high voltage and/or high output current is needed. Examples include residential, commercial and industrial applications, and also automotive and healthcare products. Working PrincipleThe ICE3B3565I integrates an innovative 2-transistor-forward full-bridge rectifier for the AC mains voltage connection. This topology offers an efficient, low-voltage-drop conversion, which keeps stand-by power losses low. Additionally, the rectifier includes built-in protection mechanisms such as Peak Current Limiting (PCL), Soft Start, Over-current Protection, Open-Loop and Short-Circuit Protection (via current limited loop operation), and Over-voltage Protection (via feedback loop operation). The FET array provides a high-electrical current switching, and an isolated flyback topology allows the designer to provide galvanic isolation between the output and the control loop. The ICE3B3565I also provides a primary- and secondary-side over temperature protection (OTP) feature to protect the semiconductor components due to excessive temperature and also includes a low-quiescent-current Power-On-Reset circuitry. In addition to its efficient and reliable operation, the ICE3B3565I features an ultra-fast transient response and a high power factor on the primary side. This topology offers designers the flexibility to achieve high-efficiency designs with low bill of material (BOM) cost.
