The ICL3232EIV-20 are member of Intersil\'s family of medium-speed C-MOS differential line drivers and receivers capable of providing full-duplex operation at data rates up to 20 Mbps. This device is optimized for RS-485/RS-422 applications, providing a cost-effective solution for low-power, low-fault-tolerant, and low-voltage applications. The ICL3232EIV-20 is ideal for many point-to-point, multipoint and data link control applications requiring differential signal transmission.
The ICL3232EIV-20 aims to provide control circuitry for sending and receiving information signals over asynchronous data communication networks. It enables the transmission of digital data over two balanced lines. The device applies differential signal transmission techniques to overcome the low voltage swings and interference found in long distance RS-485 applications. This device uses a single-ended input signal level (up to 5 V) and therefore, is compatible with microprocessor type logic.
