ICS501M Application Field and Working Principle

The ICS501M is a highly-integrated, low-power integrated clock generator for the most commonly-used output frequencies. It provides a low-cost alternative for systems that require three independent sources of synchronizedPhase-Locked Loops (PLLs). It is designed to generate clock signals or frequencies between 16 KHz (khz) to 1 MHz (µHz).

The ICS501M has an industry-standard PLL architecture, with a 16 kHz to 32 kHz adjustable reference oscillator, two digitally-controlled voltage input dividers, a voltage-controlled divider, and three independent digital PLLs. The PLLs are used to create the output clocks for different types of operations, including clock generating, clock synthesizing, frequency measurement, and frequency translation. Depending on the model, the ICS501M can support up to four independent PLLs with outputs designed to generate frequencies from 16 kHz to 1 MHz.
