The ICS94211AFLF provides an integrated PLL and VCXO clock solution that allows autonomous vehicle systems to meet the tight timing accuracy required for wireless and battery charging protocols. The PLL can accept either an external voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) or an external fixed-frequency clock source for input. The input clock can operate at any frequency from 25kHz to 200MHz and can be from any type of clock source, including crystals and various types of crystal oscillators (XOs). Internal circuitry provides frequency multiplication, phase and frequency modulation, reference clock synchronization, clock jitter reduction, and low power management for automotive applications.

The internal phase-locked loop (PLL) multiplies the input clock frequency up to the output frequency. The internal voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) provides frequency references to the PLL to help maintain tight frequency accuracy and jitter specifications. The internal VCXO control range can vary from 5 to 60 MHz, depending on the version. The PLL has an ultra-low jitter of 0.2ps RMS and a phase gain of 0.2°/V, allowing it to achieve excellent frequency and jitter performance. The PLL provides tight frequency control, supporting up to four individual dividers for a variety of outputs.
