IL-G-13P-S3L2-SA is a rectangular connector designed to provide quick and reliable mating of circuitry. It is lightweight and its contact configurations offer both options for single row and dual row applications. This connector has male pins type and is one of the many robust solution for the power and signal connections in almost all automotive and industrial applications.

Application Fields

IL-G-13P-S3L2-SA has the capability of withstanding up to 13 amps of current and is designed to be used with high power applications. Working Principle

The connector is designed using two separation points where mating can take place. This creates a secure connection between the two connecting devices. The contact pins of the connector mate with the female part of the connector. This creates electrical connection allowing the exchange of power and signal. The mounts used to keep the connector in place further secure the electrical connection.

IL-G-13P-S3L2-SA connector has a unique design that provides superior mate and un-mate forces. The contact terminals are held in place by using a single dielectric stressing bar. A unique feature of this connector is its improved strength just by a twist of the locking bar. This provides a secure mechanical connection of the components and also prevents accidental disconnection.

The cable of this connector is jacketed with a TPE or thermoplastic polyolefin insulation which holds the wires tightly and securely. The shell is also designed with the help of special material such as nylon, thermoplastic elastomer, or aluminum alloys that provides superior results against vibration, water, dust, abrasive gases and other environmental hazards.

The IL-G-13P-S3L2-SA connector offers 3 levels of locking mechanisms – press fit, latching and overlapping. The press-fit locking mechanism provides superior locking force and is suitable for applications with moderate vibration. The latching locking mechanism provides a strong hold on the connector and is suitable for applications with higher vibrations. Whereas the overlapping locking mechanism is used for reliable connections in exposed and outdoor applications.

The connector offers style type of installation such as solder, crimp and screw terminal. In solder installation, the wires are melted and then soldered in order to provide secure connection. Whereas crimp terminals provide a stronger connection than the solder terminals. This makes crimping and soldering a better choice for higher current applications. Lastly, screw terminals is used for high current applications.

IL-G-13P-S3L2-SA offers several benefits such as, it has high temperature resistance, corrosion and water resistant, low profile and vibration resistant.
