Optoisolators play a vital role in the electrical circuit of industrial, automotive, robotics, industrial automation and many other applications as it isolates the higher terms voltage of the electrical system from the lower voltage control circuits. IL2-LB is one of the most sophisticated, high-performance optoisolator with transistor photovoltaic output.The IL2-LB is based on a GaAsP LED which is optically isolated from an NPN transistor and connected in reverse bias mode. It is capable of transferring signals ranging from 2.5V to 40V. With an isolation voltage of 7.5kV, the IL2-LB provides reliable electrical isolation between the input and the output. It also has a low input current that reduces power consumption and a low collector-emitter saturation voltage of 0.4V which permits a wide range of operating temperatures.The main objective of the optoisolator IL2-LB is that it creates an isolated output when there is no direct electrical path between the input and the output. As it doesn’t allow direct electrical connection, it prevents any hazardous voltage from entering the control electronic circuits. In the IL2-LB optoisolator, the photocurrent produced by light from the emitting diode is used to control the amplification of the transistor. The emitting diode of the IL2-LB is sensitive to the current passing through it, thus when the voltage signal is applied to the diode, it produces light and ultimately causes a current to flow through the transistor which creates the output signal. The IL2-LB optoisolator is primarily used for controlling the switching on and off of the output devices. The output of the IL2-LB is composed of a controlled switch and voltage source. When the switch is open, the voltage source is connected to the output devices, making the output device active, providing current to the external circuit. When the switch is closed, the voltage source is disconnected, making the output device inactive and preventing current to flow to the external circuit.The IL2-LB optoisolator is ideal for industrial, robotics, automation, and other applications. It provides reliable electrical isolation between the input and output to protect control circuits from potentially hazardous voltages. With its low input current, low collector-emitter saturation voltage, and isolation voltage of 7.5kV, it is a reliable and efficient optoisolator making it the ideal choice for these applications.
