Fixed inductors, also known as coils, are passive electronic components primarily used in electrical circuits to store energy in the form of magnetic fields. The most common form of fixed inductor is the coil, or winding, which is an assembly of multiple turns of insulated wire in a circular shape. In addition, the fixed inductor can take many other forms, such as spiral rings, rolls of wire, and tapes.IM02STR15G is a typical fixed inductor and mainly used in DC/DC converters, power supplies,switch-mode power supplies, and router power supply circuits.

The IM02STR15G has a lead-free design and is constructed with an OFHC copper-plated base and solderless bobbin winding for excellent electrical performance. It is rated for 15A and has a maximum saturation current (IMAX) of 4A,which makes it suitable for use in high current applications. The inductance is specified as 2μH and the maximum allowable operating temperature is +125°C.
