LED Character and Numeric displays are used to display text or numerical information in various applications, closed or open areas, indoors or outdoors. The standard INND-SS56YGAG module is ideal for applications requiring high visibility, low power consumption and uniform colour brightness. It is capable of displaying six characters or up to four numerical digits in red or green colour. It is available in various sizes and is suitable for various industrial applications as well as in commercial and consumer displays.

The INND-SS56YGAG module works with a 5VDC operating voltage and a constant current for each color. The module uses a serial shift register to control a 5x6 matrix of LEDs, consisting of 6 red LEDs and 6 green LEDs. By using this serial shift register, it is possible to control the intensity of each LED separately and to create an eye-catching display of alphabets and numerics. In addition, the module has an O/P enable pin which allows the user to enable or disable the display of letters or numbers.

The module has a selection of various character and numeric fonts, which enables maximum flexibility in application design. All the characters can be set up in the program mode in which the user defines the font, color and character position. By using the addressable memory of the module, it is possible to store up to 16 characters (2 bytes each) and 4 numeric digits (4 bytes each). The module also supports up to 3 digits after the decimal point which allows the user to display exact numeric values.

The module is designed to operate in a wide range of temperatures for the applications in the extreme environment. The viewing angle of the module is specified at 8 degrees, with a minimum brightness of 10cd/m2. The built-in high-efficiency controller ICs assure high reliability and excellent performance in long-term operation. The inbound/outbound regulating capacitors and anti-static protection devices allow safe operation in both high and low voltage environments.
