The controller of the ISL2415 also provides diagnostic functions like over-voltage protection (OVP) and under-voltage protection (UVP). The OVP feature monitors the load voltage, and if it exceeds the set OVP trip point, the device shuts off automatically and latches out. This ensures the safe operation of the device and prevents damage to the load circuitry. The UVP feature performs the same task but in the opposite direction. When the load voltage drops below the set UVP trip point, the device shuts off and latches out.
