ISL6142/52EVAL1 is a low power, single-phase buck synchronous DC-DC evaluation board designed to demonstrate the features and performance of the ISL6142/52B controllers from Intersil.

The ISL6142/52EVAL1 evaluation board is based on the ISL6142/52B controller which is a 50V continuous, 200V transient, single phase synchronous buck Controller with current and voltage mode control. It is capable of both continuous and discontinuous conduction modes (DCM/CCM) and offers a very high level of flexibility for designers. This evaluation board is RoHS compliant and has an Innovative PowerSave™ feature which provides the lowest possible power consumption.

The ISL6142/52EVAL1 evaluation board has a dedicated regulator for the ISL6142/52B controller and includes an output voltage monitor circuit and a PowerSave™ circuit. The PowerSave™ circuit allows the system to enter a low power state during light load or no load conditions. The output voltage monitor circuit provides precise voltage regulation accuracy over a wide load range. The output voltage can be easily adjusted via an external resistance divider.

The evaluation board also features a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) for configuration and monitoring of the board. The GUI has a variety of functions that allow users to easily configure various settings such as switching frequency, current limit, peak current limit, soft-start, feedback loop compensation, and more. The user can also monitor and adjust the output voltage, current, power, and temperature in real-time. The GUI also provides detailed diagnostic information such as error codes, output voltage ripple, output voltage overshoot, and fault detection.
