The ISL6146DEVAL1Z Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits provide an easy way to quickly develop and evaluate new products with such great features. ISL6146DEVAL1Z is an advanced power supply and power management IC (Integrated Circuit) designed for a wide variety of applications in notebook, tablet, and smartphone applications. This power design solution is based on Intersil’s PowerStage buck/boost controller which integrates all of the functions required for a medium to advanced power solution. This board takes a wide input voltage range (2.3V to 18V) and provides up to 6A of continuous output current in a single integrated circuit solution. It can support up to 4 outputs and 5mΩ of out-stage MOSFETs which allow it to quickly respond to load current changes. This evaluation board is designed to provide an easy way to evaluate the ISL6146 controller and the Intersil’s PowerStage solution for mobile and portable device applications.

ISL6146DEVAL1Z works on the principle of switching regulators also known as pulse-width modulators (PWM). This type of regulators uses high-frequency switching which helps them to quickly respond to load current changes and to achieve high efficiency across a wide range of output currents. The ISL6146DEVAL1Z can be used in both synchronous and non-synchronous buck/boost switching modes. In synchronous mode it can support 6A of continuous output current while in non-synchronous mode it can support 3A of continuous output current.
