ISL6273EVAL1 is an evaluation board designed to expand the use of the ISL6273 Synchronous Rectified Buck Regulator. This board provides a platform for quick and easy evaluation of the performance and capabilities of the ISL6273 regulator, and to simplify the process of generating a custom power supply design. The board is well suited for use in DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) SMPS applications where a compact, efficient, and cost effective solution is required.The ISL6273EVAL1 board contains two basic circuits, the first being the power input circuit, consisting of an AC-DC converter, which converts the AC input supply voltage to a DC voltage, and a DC-DC converter or Buck Regulator, which takes the DC input voltage and reduces it to a regulated output voltage. The second circuit is the power output circuit, consisting of a DC-DC converter that takes the output of the Buck Regulator and produces a regulated output voltage.The ISL6273EVAL1 is an adjustable synchronous Buck regulator that offers the advantages of excellent line and load regulation performance, high efficiency levels, and high current output capability. It provides an adjustable output voltage of 0.8V to 6.5V, and can be used in applications requiring power up to 10A or 30A instantaneous peak current.The board supports operation from a single 3.3V to 6V DC input voltage and can be configured for either stepped down or stepped up operation. The board is designed with an adjustable power dissipation level, so that it can be used in applications which require a wide range of power dissipation levels. The power dissipation level is adjustable from 1W to 10W with its own internal sense resistor.The ISL6273EVAL1 board is designed with an embedded loop gain compensation network which provides excellent control over the output voltage and noise levels. This board is capable of operating with both fixed frequency and burst mode control, allowing for a wide selection of operating frequencies.To simplify the design process and reduce development time, the ISL6273EVAL1 board provides a design platform that includes all the key components needed for a power supply design. A total of eight power components are included on the board, such as MOSFETs, diodes, and capacitors.
