Working Principle

The ISL6369CRZ is an integrated buck-boost regulator which provides three independent buck regulators and one high-side pass element. The buck regulator is based on a fixed frequency Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) waveform. The PWM pulse width is proportional to the input voltage and output current. The integrated current sensing and loop feedback keeps the output regulation even at low current.The three buck regulators follow a constant voltage - constant current regulation. The selected voltage is regulated by a current loop and the selected current is regulated by a voltage loop. The voltage loop works at a constant voltage and the current loop works at a constant current, thus ensuring that the output voltage remains stable regardless of load changes. The regulation is based on the RFI pin voltage and the error amplifier in the feedback loop.The high-side pass element is used to control the output voltage of the device. It adjusts the output voltage by varying the output current, thus acting as an adjustable constant current source. The output current is adjusted by the Voltage Regulator Module (VRM), which receives a control signal from the host.
