ISL6410AEVAL1 is an evaluation board for a single-channel zero-voltage switch mode power supply (SMPS) controller designed for AC/DC and DC/DC (off-line) applications. This evaluation board can be used for a wide range of applications including consumer and computing equipment, telecommunications and industry equipment, LCD TV monitors, power adapter, electric vehicle on-board charger and other applications. This evaluation board is based on the ISL6410A single-channel step-down power supply controller.

The core of the ISL6410A is a low-cost, low-power, high-efficiency AC/DC and DC/DC (off-line) PWM controller. It includes a power MOSFET, a bias voltage regulator, and a gate drive circuit. The controller is optimized for driving a synchronous rectified buck converter with a peak current mode control loop for output voltage regulation. This device is designed with maximum flexibility to accommodate a variety of design topologies including the traditional forward converter, the current-mode buck converter as well as the synchronous rectified buck converter.

The ISL6410AEVAL1 evaluation board consists of the ISL6410A controller and all the necessary external components, including an output filter. It is powered by an AC/DC adapter with AC input voltages ranging from 85VAC to 132VAC. The DC voltage outputs range from 1V to 18V could be easily adjustable with the onboard potentiometer. The power MOSFET used in this evaluation board has a maximum DC current output of up to 3A and a maximum duty cycle of 95%.

The ISL6410AEVAL1 includes a wide variety of features to help designers evaluate the performance of the ISL6410A controller in a variety of different applications.
