The ISL6410EVAL1 is an efficient, fully featured Off-Line Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) evaluation board featuring the ISL6435M high voltage PWM controller alongside the ISL6132A synchronous rectifier and the ISL6271D dual synchronous rectifier. This evaluation board is best suited for Flyback, Step-Down and SEPIC topologies for applications ranging from consumer to industrial applications and can provide up to 50W output power. This evaluation board is a great tool for engineers and designers to evaluate the ISL6410M family of components for developing AC/ DC and DC-DC Off-Line SMPS.The ISL6410EVAL1 is designed to demonstrate and validate the ISL6410M family’s working principles and capabilities. This evaluation board uses a quasi-resonant Flyback topology with an output voltage of 24V, a maximum output power of 50W, and an efficiency rating of up to 95%. The ISL6410M family of components can be configured for numerous topologies such as Flyback, Forward, Buck, Boost, Flybrid and SEPIC with both single-ended and differential outputs. The board also provides additional features for design customization such as dual loop slope compensation, independent power on/off, oscillator synchronization and tolerance to line noise, enabling implementation of high performance switching power supplies.The ISL6410EVAL1 ensures reliable performance and has a wide range of protection features including over-temperature protection, fault protection, output overvoltage protection and short circuit protection. It also has an equilibrium control and over current limiting features to ensure a high level of system hygiene and robustness.The ISL6410EVAL1 is designed to be used with an open frame type power transformer that can be assembled to the board with simple soldering. The board also has three isolation screw terminals for primary and secondary connections. It also has a USB connector to facilitate connection of the board to an external computer for programming and monitoring of the board.
