The ISL6556BCR is an integrated monolithic regulator that is highly specialized for particular applications, commonly labeled as a special purpose Voltage Regulator. Using advanced BiCMOS process technology, it is a NiMH/NiCd battery charger with a wide input voltage range and 3-bit Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs). The internal synchronous buck regulator boosts the voltage from the input battery source up to the desired regulated output level.
