ISL9000JMEV2 Evaluation Boards - Linear Voltage Regulators

The ISL9000JMEV2 evaluation boards are a family of linear voltage regulators for DC/DC converters. The evaluation boards come with the ISL9000JMEV2 integrated circuit and provide a reliable, isolated, load-balancing source of regulated voltage to power precision circuits. They are offered with wide input and output voltage ranges and are short-circuit protected according to IEC61000-4-5. The boards operate at a maximum noise level of only 200nV rms and can support up to 39 W power dissipation.

The ISL9000JMEV2 integrates a low noise high quality voltage regulator, two LDOs, voltage reference, fault supervisor, and output voltage monitoring. It is an ideal solution for applications requiring stable low noise outputs and differential signals. The evaluation board features a split-rail design with all outputs guarding the user\'s sensitive circuits. The board also includes a load balancer and a temperature monitor for keeping the system within the allowable temperature range.

The voltage reference circuit is basically an adjustable voltage source connected to the output voltage of the output circuit to continuously compare the output voltage with the reference voltage. If the voltage is found different, the error amplifier will adjust the switching transistor to compensate for the error and bring the output back to the reference voltage. When the voltage error is within the allowable range, the transistor will remain turned off, thus providing stable output voltage.
