It is a DC-DC Synchronous Step Down switching regulator from the DC-DC switching regulators in PMIC, voltage regulators. Working Principle

When the output voltage falls below the reference voltage, the buck converter will start switching on the integrated low-RDSON MOSFETs. At the same time, the internal buck regulator will increase the switching frequency to reduce output voltage over-shoot.

The protection circuit of the ISL91107IRTAZ can protect against overvoltage, overcurrent, over-temperature and short-circuit, and also supports adjustable current limit and Soft Start. The Thermal Shutdown detects over-temperature and shuts down the regulator, while the Programmable Under-Voltage Lockout (UVLO) will shut down the regulator when the input voltage is too low.
