IUGH966-21404-7 is usually used as the main current breaker in welding machine panels, electric furnace control panels, long distance transmissions, transformers, and other large current protection systems. But because of its complex design, it is not recommended for residential or smaller projects.

Working Principle

IUGH966-21404-7 works in two steps. First, when an overload current or short circuit occurs, the IUGH966-21404-7 senses it and automatically shuts off the circuit by its own. Second, when the device decides that the current was an overload and not a short circuit, it will start to limit the current of the circuit, making sure that the circuit doesn’t experience the same overload again.

Also, in case of an overload current, the device transforms the main breaker into a differential breaker, working like a fuse by limiting the current. In this manner, if the overload persists or the short-circuit current reaches the sensibility level of the device, it will open the circuit again, preventing further damage.

These features guarantee a long life and a constant protection of the circuit, even when the faulted equipment is not able to be replaced in a short time.
